Many activities are available for ‘tweens and teens in 6th–12th grades. We have
Youth Night each Thursday at 7:00pm. There are crowd breakers, games, worship,
and practical Bible teachingactivities. Special trips and activities
include Water-world, Great America, “Gym Jams,” sporting events, basketball,
softball, Winter Camp, Summer Camp, and much more.

Young Adults
Our Young Adult’s ministry (E3) isdesigned to bring college students,
young married couples, and younger singles into the mainstream of the church.
Young adults in many churches fall through the cracks because they are often
lured away by life’s distractions;yet the most challenging and life-long
decisions are made in these critical years (twenties and thirties). We are
committed to walking our young adults through these challenging years.
We are intentional about preparing men andwomen in their thirties and
forties to mentor our young adults. We offer many classes, L.I.F.E. Groups,
seminars, activities, ministry and leadership opportunities for our young
adults. They are not the church of tomorrow…theyare the church of today!
Men's Ministry
New Hope International Church's men’s ministry is friendly and open. At our
men's events, you’ll find men of every age, ethnicity, and background. We have a
strong group of men who areactive in every aspect of NHIC. They serve at
all levels; and have opportunities throughout each week and throughout the year
for fellowship, discipleship, and outreach.
One of the highlights each year is our Men’s Retreats. Each Winter
(usually the fourth weekend of February) and Summer (usually the fourth weekend
of August), our men hang out on the lake or at a mountain resort for skiing,
fun, and fellowship. A monthly breakfast (second Saturday ofeach month)
is another time for sharing time together, hearing testimonies, and praying with
one another.

Women's Ministry
The Women's ministry at New Hope International Church is vibrant and engaging.
Our women enjoy retreats, activities, L.I.F.E. Groups for women, Bible
studies, prayer gatherings, and many other fellowship events. Our women can be
found serving in every ministry of NHIC.
Music and Drama
We have a dynamic music ministry at New HopeInternational Church. Music
ministries include “A Company of Praise” choir and band, “News Kids on the Rock”
children’s choir, and special singers and music concerts. There are several
drama events each year, from Sundaymorning skits to exciting musical and
drama presentations.
Singers, actors, and musicians of all kinds are needed. We welcome anyone who
has a desire to serve the Lord through music or drama. Join the Choir! Call Judy
Douglas at925-682-5918 for information.
Recovery Ministry
Our recovery ministry is more than just a place to hear and apply God’s Word.
It’s a place where you learn how to live beyond your recovery. It’s a place
where you can findloving support as you make your way back to a
productive place in society.
“…Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For
we are members one of another...” (Ephesians 4:25)
Together, weare building better lives and better families. You’ll learn
how to Get Real! with God, with others, and with yourself. You can begin to live
as God intended—discovering God’s purpose for your life. Our aim is to guide you
indiscovering and accomplishing that purpose.
Recovery is a lifestyle. By following Christ and obeying His Word, you can be
free of bondage to sin and destructive habits!
Helping Hands
Sharing the gospel at home and in foreignlands is a part of the founding
statement of New Hope International Church. We are strongly committed to
bringing the message of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible.
Our weekly “Helping Hands” Ministry provides a mealand the love of Christ
to the needy and homeless in our community. Our “Get Real” recovery ministry has
an open door to many of the shelters, recovery homes, transitional houses, and
treatment centers in Contra Costa County. Each December, we are the host
church for “Christmas for Everyone,” which provides hundreds of Christmas
dinners, gifts, and clothing for the needy in our community. Each year, we serve
about 3,000 needy people in ourregion.
World Missions
At our annual World Missions Conference, we emphasize the need to reach out to
the world. The people of New Hope International Church give monetary support to
missionaries around the globe. Past missionsprojects have provided the
funds to build a church in India and buy bicycles for pastors in Africa, plant
churches in the Philippines, reach Muslim communities in Thailand, assist in
medical outreaches in Africa, minister atchurches, conferences, and youth
camps in Hungary and Romania, and much more!
Under the leadership of our International Pastoral Team (IPT), our local church
sends people and support to spread the gospel around the world. Wefocus
on short-term missions trips. Small groups of pastors and lay-people travel to
foreign countries for a few weeks and share God’s Love and His Word. We have
sent people to the Philippines, Mexico, Hungary, Romania, Africa,El
Salvador, Peru, India, the Middle East, and Thailand.
In recent years, we planted four churches in the Philippines, started a feeding
program in the dumpsite of Metro Manila, and offered financial support to dozens
of pastorsand ministries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and Mexico.
Europe
Pastors Tibor and Doina Ambrus have attended NHIC since 1998 and led Team Europe
since 2001. They have also served with our International Pastoral Team to reachthe
unreached people groups of the world. For example, Pastor Tibor traveled to the
interior of Mexico, hiking for several hours to reach about 200 villagers in
“The Sierras.” His heart is to reach the lost in every peoplegroup around
the world, but his main focus is Europe.
As a former National Youth Director for an “underground” Charismatic/Pentecostal
organization in Hungary, Pastor Tibor enjoys ministry relationships that go back
more thantwo decades, and extend beyond the borders of Hungary.
Pastor Tibor and his wife Doina (from Romania) have been part of church
planting, crusades, pastor’s conferences, youth camps, building projects,
orphanages, outreachprograms, and more. They lead one to two teams each
year to their respective countries. Pastor Tibor once said, “…There is a
homeless ministry in Budapest that we are connected with. Leaders there are
planning to open anorphanage. All throughout Transylvania we see hungry
and homeless children on the streets begging for bread or food. I can’t close my
eyes without seeing these children in my mind’s eye! We must not turn our backs
on theseneedy children!”
Jesus said in Matthew 25:35–36, “…For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was
thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked
and you clothed me; I was sick and youvisited me; I was in prison and you
came to me...” In verse 40 he also said, “…Assuredly, I say to you, in as much
as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me…”

Here’s a comment fromSenior Pastor Jeff Kenney about Pastor’s Tibor and
Doina:
“…It is said that ‘the proof is in the pudding.’” I have known Tibor and Doina
for many years now. I am seeing their children grow into young adults. I’ve hadthe
opportunity to witness that they are genuine servants of the Lord. It has been
my privilege to work with him and partner with them to reach Europe. I feel that
the best is yet to come.
Pastor’s Tibor and Doina will continueto take ministry teams from our
local fellowship to Europe. Short-term mission’s trips are life-changing. When
“light” contacts “darkness” and the spiritual violently breaks in to the
material, there is an atmosphere forthe supernatural manifestation of
God. Every time I’ve traveled, my world vision comes into greater focus. I
believe that God reveals a fresh aspect of His heart for the world with every
trip. I tell our people all the time,“Get you passport!” I realize that
not everyone can go. However, everyone can send. Please consider partnering with
this ministry. Will you send people to reach the unreached people of our world,
to touch abandoned children, and to give people a passport out of darkness
into the glorious light through a relationship with Jesus Christ? Team Europe is
worth your investment…”
-Pastor Jeff Kenney
Africa
Pastors Godfrey and Gloriahave led Team Africa since 2001 for NHIC. They
have also served with our International Pastoral Team to reach the unreached
people groups of the world. For example, Pastor Godfrey has traveled to Hungary
and Romania, reachingchildren in orphanages and ministering to pastors
and churches. Their hearts beat for the lost in every people group around the
world, but their main focus is Africa.
Each year, Pastors Godfrey and Gloria lead medical andoutreach teams to
Ghana, West Africa. They are in relationship with several influential pastors
and leaders throughout West Africa.
One of the Divine Connections in Accra (the capitol city of Ghana) is with
Bishop Ebenezer Markwei. Pastors Ebenezer, and his wife Davina have become
good personal friends with our Senior Pastors, Jeff and Missy Kenney. Our
pastors are committed to partnering with them as they build a 10,000 seat
auditorium, a 350 bedhospital, and a school. Their vision is
unparalleled.
Pastor Missy has a desire to take some of our women to the Women’s Conference at
Living Streams International (LSI), where she recently ministered. The women of
LSIorganize a medical outreach with screening, testing, and the
distribution of thousand of dollars in medical supplies and medicine as part of
their annual conference.
NHIC has fed children in orphanages, hosted medicaloutreaches, ministered
in churches; but our primary focus in recent years has been to partner with
Pastors Ebenezer and Davina Markwei to see their vision become a reality. Pastor
Jeff recently said, “…Pastors Godfrey andGloria are our bridge to Africa,
and we (Missy and I) thank God for their passion, servant’s hearts, vision, and
team spirit…”
Mexico
Pastor Jeff met Israel Noguera (one of our church’s Board Members) in 1999.
Shortlyafter meeting, Israel introduced our pastor to his first cousin
Pastor Hazael Noguera. He invited him to preach at their annual church
conference in Tapeapulco, Mexico. He went and has been invited back each year
since then.
Pastors Hazael and Pamela lead a church that has planted more than 150 churches.
They have an Apostolic anointing; and give oversight to hundreds of pastors and
leaders. Each year, teams are led to build churches, preachconferences,
and reach the needy people in Mexico.
Our church has been instrumental in connecting Pastors Hazael and Pamela to
several pastors in our region who now support their ministry. Our pastor was
given the name“Noguera,” and is considered family with the Noguera
family. Their third child was given the first name “Kenney.”
Pastor Jeff recently said, “…One of the greatest stories in my ministry happened
when a ‘DivineAppointment’ connected me with the Noguera family. This
ministry relationship has been a blessing to my family; and I know that NHIC has
been a blessing to them. Pastors Hazael and Pamela are servants like few I have
met in mylife. Their ministry can be described in one word: sacrifice. I
don’t know anyone who has made personal sacrifices for their people like these
two. I’m proud to consider them family…”
Our church was instrumental instarting a ministry in Tijuana that
continues today. Thousands are reached each year, a church was built, and the
ministry is growing. We have assisted churches and pastors in Mexicali, Pachuca,
and more. We continue to supportpastors and leaders throughout Mexico,
and look forward to increasing our effectiveness as doors are opened. As Pastor
Dale Gentry often says, “Big doors swing on small hinges.”
Thailand
Zina Docto (serving with her husband"Doc" as missionaries to Thailand)
once said, “Pastors Jeff and Missy: We want to make you and New Hope
International Church proud as we are the first full-time missionaries who are
being sent from NHIC.” In 2005,they sold their home and possessions, said
their “good-byes,” and headed for Thailand. What a journey for them.
At first they ministered in a tourist community. They learned the language and
culture, worked with a Muay ThaiTraining Center, and discovered which
ministries were most effective in Thailand. Our first Leadership Team traveled
to Thailand in 2007 to preview the ministry opportunities for Team Thailand.
Shortly after, the Lord redirectedthem to a mostly Muslim community in
the south. Since the latter part of 2007, they have started to teach English at
one of the local schools. They are training students in Muay Thai, and opening a
Community Center for BibleStudies, Worship Services, Discipleship,
Classes in the Arts (dance and music), English Courses, and more.
Zina Docto recently shared in her monthly newsletter, “…We recently had a young
professional (dentist) from Walescome to stay with us for 3 weeks to
train in Muay Thai. He had no belief in the existence of God, let alone Jesus.
Through a divine awakening (I mean that literally), he made a decision to
receive Christ…” She went on towrite about their impact in the local
community, “…Daniel and Radt (interpreter) preached a simple message of how
Christ came to villages just like theirs to heal those who had sicknesses of
many kinds. Daniel also shared ofhow not only did Jesus come to bring
healing, but that he came to bring eternal life and a promise for heaven, a
place without tears, sickness, or disease. After we prayed for many to be healed
of their various infirmities, wemade a call to salvation. Four people
came up to receive Christ with joy. We were humbled and excited as we presented
each of the new believers a Bible for them to know Christ more intimately.
During our time of prayer, we prayedover a little girl who had injured
her knee. As soon as we laid hands on her and prayed for her knee, she smiled at
me and then jumped off her moms lap to go outside to play. Khun Radt received a
phone call from the child's motherto say that she was asking us to come
back to pray for her again, because she hurt her other knee. The child said she
wanted the people who heal to come and see her again. It was a wonderful witness
to her mother, whom had justgiven her heart to Christ…”
